The problem with existing technology is that, due to the low-temperature separation of liquid sulfur, the carbon disulfide content in the liquid sulfur is too high. During the filtration process of liquid sulfur, it can be released, causing safety and environmental issues. In order to prevent carbon disulfide from escaping from the liquid sulfur, a distillation method is used to reduce the carbon disulfide content in the liquid sulfur. The carbon disulfide after distillation is sent to Claus systems or incineration systems, resulting in loss of carbon disulfide in the product, high consumption of utilities, large investment, and complex operation.

 

In response to the existing problems with current technology, the present invention provides a method and system for separating excess sulfur during the production process of carbon disulfide.

 

This invention belongs to the field of sulfur separation technology and discloses a method and system for separating excess sulfur in the process of carbon disulfide production. It achieves the separation of excess liquid sulfur at high temperatures, ensuring a lower content of carbon disulfide in the liquid sulfur. The carbon disulfide with higher sulfur content obtained through low-temperature cooling separator and the carbon disulfide with low sulfur content generated during the distillation process are returned to the high-temperature cooling separator, achieving the separation of excess liquid sulfur at high temperatures. This invention not only ensures the purity of the recovered liquid sulfur, thereby avoiding the need to deeply remove carbon disulfide to directly separate the carbon sludge in the liquid sulfur during subsequent filtration under normal pressure, which may involve deep post-treatment or pose safety and environmental issues, but also ensures the efficient removal of liquid sulfur from carbon disulfide, ensuring high-quality carbon disulfide products. At the same time, it fully utilizes the energy of the high temperature of the process gas at the reactor outlet, avoiding energy waste from cooling and reheating using distillation methods.
