General Manager of DODGEN was invited to attend the 2023 CHINA PETROCHEMICAL FORUM to discuss the technological innovation in the new era

On 21 July 2023, Mr Kang Xiaoling, General Manager of Shanghai DODGEN, was invited to attend the "2023 CHINA PETROCHEMICAL FORUM". The conference was hosted by the People's Government of Panjin City and organized by the China Chemical Economic and Technological Development Center, the Chemical Industrial Park Working Committee of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, and the Panjin Liaobin Coastal Economic and Technological Development Zone.

The conference gathered representatives from the government, industry associations, major domestic chemical industrial parks, large petrochemical companies and engineering firms from both domestic and international sources, research institutions, and outstanding suppliers. Dignitaries such as Mr. Fu Xiangsheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, Mr. Yang Ting, Secretary-General of the Chemical Industrial Park Working Committee of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, and Mr. Xu Chunming, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the National Key Laboratory of Heavy Oil at China University of Petroleum, delivered splendid speeches during the conference. Mr Kang Xiaoling, General Manager of DODGEN, delivered a keynote speech during the Technology Innovation Forum and engaged in in-depth exchanges with industry leaders regarding new technologies and industry trends in the petrochemical sector.

The theme of this conference is "Green and Low-Carbon, Innovation and Quality Enhancement." Under the context of the "dual-carbon" targets, facing the dual pressures of carbon reduction and development in the petrochemical industry, experts from different fields have put forward effective low-carbon transformation pathways. These include the enhancement of chemical processes, green hydrogen technologies, and the continued popularity of chemical new materials in areas such as photovoltaics, wind power, lithium batteries, and semiconductor chemicals. The development of petrochemical enterprises towards high-end, precision, and differentiated growth remains the future's main theme, with technological innovation serving as the driving force for high-quality development.

Petrochemical and coal chemical enterprises can achieve low-carbon, high-quality transformation by focusing on improving operational efficiency, carbon reduction in raw materials, and the development of emerging technologies.

As the domestic refining and chemical industry continues to expand, coupled with disruptions from political, economic, and other factors, as well as weakened downstream demand, the profit margins of refining and chemical enterprises have been squeezed. To enhance operational efficiency, one approach is to focus on "reducing oil and increasing chemicals," making full use of light hydrocarbon resources as byproducts. Additionally, adopting optimized and low-carbon production processes, such as using microreactors to improve conversion rates and yields, employing melt crystallizers to reduce energy consumption, and implementing system coupling technologies for design and operational optimization, is crucial. DODGEN provides advanced and comprehensive technical solutions in the fields of reaction and separation, especially in the production of xylene, para-xylene, acrylic acid, and bisphenol A, meeting customers' demands for energy conservation, efficiency, and high quality.

In the oil refining industry, low-carbonization of raw materials can be achieved by substituting heavy crude oil with light crude oil, as well as through the propane dehydrogenation process for the lightweight conversion of olefin feedstocks to propylene. This process is characterized by its short duration and low cost, with hydrogen byproducts serving as raw materials for the hydrogen energy industry. Another trend in the petrochemical industry is the substitution of traditional petroleum with bio-based feedstocks, such as using vegetable oils to produce biodiesel. The processes of hydrogen production and biodiesel manufacturing require high levels of purification and enhancement capabilities. DODGEN's gas-liquid separators and distillation technologies, among others, can assist you in addressing the challenges of green energy production.

Utilizing their own raw materials to develop emerging technologies is an essential choice for achieving high-quality development. For instance, coal chemical enterprises can transition to producing high-value-added and easily degradable aliphatic polyester, Polyglycolic Acid (PGA), while dicarboxylic acid/alcohol manufacturers can shift to producing excellent biodegradable material, Polybutylene Succinate (PBS). Building upon the successful experience with PLA, DODGEN has developed a complete set of PGA technologies, which have been successfully implemented on a pilot production line.

Amidst the global economic downturn, the challenges facing the global petrochemical industry have intensified, at the same time it represent an opportunity to enhance competitiveness through the adjustment of business strategies. Early positioning and collaboration with leading technology service providers signify a fast track to transformation. DODGEN stands as a foremost provider of technology and equipment in the industry. We believe that by joining forces with DODGEN, a sustainable future of development can undoubtedly be achieved.
